Explorers of Italy,
If you are living in Milan or just visiting this city for some days, this one-day itinerary idea could be a perfect plan to spend your time with pleasure and see two places: Venice & Verona. This itinerary I tried with my friend when she came to visit me to Milan.
What’s the one-day itinerary? MILAN – > VENICE – > VERONA- > MILAN
Actually, I always prefer slow traveling when you may get known the place that you are visiting better, deeper, slower. But at the same time I understand that if you are a tourist with time limits and would like to visit the pearls of Italy during your trip, it has a place to be: two cities in one day.

What’s the plan?
Around 7 am take a direct train from Milano Centrale (Milan Central train station) to Venezia Santa Lucia (Venice train station). The way takes 2,5 hs, fast train of Trenitalia company. There is also wi-fi onboard.
When you arrive in Venice, take a coffee with some sweets in Pasticceria Dal Mas and then start your day of exploring this city of channels, bridges and gondolas.
Did you know that Venice has more than 350 bridges all over the city? Or that it’s situated on more than 100 islands? This city has a lot of secrets, but I’ll tell you about them next time. Let’s continue with our itinerary.
Don’t forget to make s lot of pictures, take a glass of Prosecco for 3,5 EUR or Aperol Spritz for 4,5 EUR. I promise, you’ll not find such prices in other cities, because Venice is a part of Veneto region, famous for Prosecco production.
Have your lunch in Venice, explore the Venetian streets, admire San Marco square, visit the unique bookshop Libreria Acqua Alta…
I think this city will not leave you indifferent!

Around 4 pm take a train from Venezia Santa Lucia (you arrived there earlier) and go to Verona Porta Nuova (train station of Verona that’s close to city centre). The way will take 1 h with train company Italo .
When you arrive in Verona, you’ll need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the city centre.
See the Arena (Verona’s Colisseum), have a walk through its cozy streets, visit the main square Piazza delle Erbe, enjoy the view from the bridges and… even if it’s such a touristic place but you can’t imagine Verona without it, visit the House of Sheakspear’s Giullette. In Verona you may have aperitivo (recommend you La Prosciutteria) or dinner if you prefer to eat earlier.
Around 9 pm take a train from Verona Porta Nuova to come back to Milano Centrale. The way takes 2 hs. Take rest on the way and reflect about all the beauty that you saw during the day.
What do you think about this one-day itinerary idea? I think it could work for you, my dear explorer of Italy!
