Ciao, lovers of Italian art and history!
I invite you to visit the main Italian Museums and Archaeological Parks for Free on the first Sunday of every month.
In Italy, the first Sunday of each month takes place #DomenicaAlMuseo (Museum Sunday). It was launched in 2014 by the Italian Ministry of Culture in order to encourage people to get familiar with art and culture. On that day you can visit the state museums, archaeological sites and Italian places of culture absolutely for FREE!
Note: Be ready to spend some hours in a queue, but if you want to save money, it’s the only way.
A total of 485 state museums & archaeological parks throughout the country open their door to anyone who wants to touch Italian history and culture. The places like the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, St.Castle and the Colosseum in Rome, the ruins in Pompeii, the Blue Grotto in Capri, and many others open their doors on this day.
My personal advice to you is: to consult the full list (but in Italian) on the official website of the Italian Ministry of Culture to avoid any inconvenience when you come to visit.
Pay attention that the list is sorted by region. You can also search for specific places by typing CTRL+F or Cmnd+F and introducing the city/museum name to the page.
Frankly speaking, it’s a perfect deal! Especially if you take into consideration that on average a single ticket costs 10-15€. So, don’t this opportunity.
